Your Pura Vida Story
Introduction: A warm arrival
5th December
Flights can be tiring, right? So rather than heading straight off to our first stop, we’ll gather together for one night in a unique hillside hideaway in the San Jose area.
By night, we’ll get to know each other over a casual dinner. In the morning, we’ll wake up in comfort and tranquility, slowly acclimatising ourselves to this peaceful side of Costa Rica before we head off into the tropical forest.
Chapter 1: Nature and adventure immersion
6-9th December
Say hello to the magic of Costa Rica.
Nestled in the middle of the peaceful dry forest, our first stop offers a variety of experiences to come to our senses, from the sound of the howler monkeys to the sights of the luscious surroundings, the touch of your comfy bed each night, and the tastes of the seasonal, locally sourced cuisine.
While the plan here is to get the heart rate going just a little in the mornings with some zip-lining and tubing in the canyon, afternoons will be free to relax and reflect, to hike, or to enjoy the property’s local hot springs. And of course, our stay wouldn’t be complete without some yoga drenched in those tropical views.

Chapter 2: Reflection and Exploration
9th-12th December
Jaw-dropping accommodations set the scene for our second chapter.
With impressive architecture and a couple of surprises, this is another spot that’s bound to command our attention instantly.
Our time here is an excellent chance to connect with ourselves. From a private group yoga session in their astounding communal space to more free time enjoying the fruits of this special place, we’ll have plenty of time to reflect both alone and together. Slowly edging our way to the beach, we’ll also take a playful trip down for a surf lesson as well as take some time to enjoy the natural phenomenon that is ‘Whales Tail Beach’.

Chapter 3: Community and Integration
12th-15th December
We’ve made it to our beach stop! A favourite little spot called Santa Teresa, where our group will enjoy some time integrating with the Pura Vida local lifestyle.
This is the spot where we will begin to integrate back into the world and enjoy some time in the local community, with a couple of dinners out and a special little surprise to understand why this area of Costa Rica has been named one of the world’s only five blue zones, areas where people live to the greatest ages.
No Santa Teresa trip would be complete without some horseback riding on the beach, and our trip wouldn’t be complete without one final surprise!

One obvious concern with solo travel but an incredible benefit of group travel is, of course, safety of numbers and trust in experiences.
Whether it’s a country where you wouldn’t feel safe travelling solo or the awareness that you’d simply feel more relaxed and comfortable if you were there with a group of people, there’s nothing more important than feeling confident in your safety when travelling around our sometimes crazy world.
Meet your hostess:
My name is Kristie and I am the founder of The Escape Artist: A bespoke travel design service that helps you to travel deeper through local culture, curated accommodation and unique experiences.
Both an experienced luxury Travel Designer, and worldwide traveller, I’ve explored the world from Cambodia to Colombia, curating all kinds of experiences for myself and my clients, from luxurious escapes from space and time to intrepid adventures that inspire long-lasting change.
I also am deeply passionate about self-development, wellness, and finding true happiness and fulfilment in life, and I strongly believe that travel can be one of our greatest teachers in these areas. In my opinion, there is nothing more transformative than exploring this wonderful world and understanding it and consequently ourselves, on a deeper level.
After taking many bold moves myself to create the life of my dreams, I love to inspire others to also take daring leaps towards their goals. I am therefore also an accredited coach with the AC and I love to use these skills to help others discover their blocks, patterns, and most importantly, their own power over their lives.

ღ As your host, I am not only a hugely passionate and experienced traveller but also a travel professional with 10+ years of industry experience, organising travel for private clients as well as corporate clients and events. I’m excited to bring together my many years of experience in planning and streamlining experiences with my pleasure in spending time with like-minded people in exciting destinations!
ღ Considering you’ll be travelling with the person who actually designed the experience, you know that every element of the trip has been mapped out to maximise your experience and that I wouldn’t send you off to do anything I wouldn’t be willing to do myself!
ღ I understand the need for balance. This will not be an action-packed adventure with every second planned out. Nor is it solely a retreat, dedicated intensely to ‘doing the work’. On this adventure retreat, there’ll be plenty of fun and also plenty of time to reflect. We’ve got lots of exciting stuff in store, but you’ll also get space to breathe. The result: An actively transformational experience that really has the potential to celebrate the present moment!
ღ This is not the kind of trip that focuses on the experience and skimps on the accommodations. For me, accommodation is an important piece of the puzzle. Therefore, you’ll be staying in some of the coolest, most luxurious spots Costa Rica has to offer. And we’ll have plenty of time to enjoy them while also enjoying the scenery around us.
ღ The nature of the adventure retreat is to combine elements of both adventure experiences and retreat styles into one experience. Therefore, the first two hotels will be hotels where we will eat and mostly stay on site (with some activities outside of the resort). On our last stop, we will begin to venture out, so please ensure you are happy with this arrangement.
ღ It’s amazing value! I’ve scoured the market, and I can assure you that for what you’re getting here in terms of quality compared to price, there’s very little that can compare!

Total cost for two friends sharing a room will be £3869 on early bird and £4200 regular pricing
Payment Plan
Upon signing up, there will be a Non-Refundable registration fee of £250. This amount will later be deducted from your deposit.
By August 25th, we will then take the remainder of your 50% deposit (or full payment if you prefer).
Full payment will be due by 30th September.
At each stage, due to commitments and contracts with accommodations and services, payments will be non-refundable; therefore, please ensure that you take out comprehensive travel insurance immediately upon paying your deposit.

Important Notes
ღ Vibe check: We are all here to enjoy the trip and make the most of our experience. This trip is strictly for positive interactions, so if you have an issue at any time with any guests or aspects of the trip, please let me know straight away so that we can work together to fix it.
ღ Airport transfers are only included on the dates specified. We will discuss transfer times according to flights selected, and these will be grouped with other travellers, so they may include a wait time.
ღ If you choose to extend your trip before or after, I may be able to help with arrangements. Please let me know your plans.
ღ The transfer times between the destinations in Costa Rica are fairly lengthy. This will be broken down as much as possible to keep it manageable. The reason for lengthy transfers is to enable us to see three very unique and wonderful areas in Costa Rica and three epic accommodations. I hope that these transfers will give you time to enjoy the varying scenery and time to reflect on your journey so far!
